Kathryn Witkowski

Kathryn Witkowski, a Soprano, voice teacher, and Mid-Michigan native, recently took on the role of Educational Outreach Associate at Playground Opera. Here, she combines her experience as a classical singer, educator, and administrator to expand the program into more schools and states, as well as making connections to various Community-Based Organizations. Outside of Opera on Tap, Kathryn is an avid performer and a graduate student at Belmont University studying Vocal Pedagogy. Recent roles include Praskovia in The Merry Widow, Cathy in The Last Five Years, and she will soon be playing the title role of Carmen at Belmont University’s Opera Scenes. As an educator and researcher, she has immersed herself in classical vocal pedagogy, commercial and musical theatre styles. She is a member of NATS and MSVMA where has previously presented on Non-Classical Vocal Pedagogy, and is currently working on her thesis studying the Cross-trained Musical Theatre Soprano.
