City as Studio
Opera on Tap will be presenting its second in its Operatic Book Club series. Operatic Book Club is a recital series meant to highlight works that are adaptations of literature. This specific recital is part of our project for Chicago Artist’s Month, and the theme is “City as Studio.”
Authors involved are those who were influenced by living in a city at some point in their life. Singers will be singing works with text by Sylvia Plath, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Willa Cather. Composers include Ned Rorem, John Harbison, and Libby Larsen.
