Opera from the Court of the Sun King

Opera from the Court of the Sun King

Jan 28, 6:30pm - Jan 28, 7:15pm

Online

Price: $15

Grandiose spectacles, such as those devised by Francois Vatel in the Vatel drama that we are showing, featured opera by Jean-Baptiste Lully. Lully's music reflected the Sun King, Louis XIV, and his court as gods and heroes. In this performance, Opera on Tap Colorado brings the music that thrilled courtiers and royalty at Versailles and Chantilly during the king's reign to life during this present moment. The song selections and libretto is available in the event program: operaontap.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Sun-King-Program.pdf

Singers: Ekaterina Kotcherguina, Soprano; Adam Ewin, Baritone; Margaret Siegrist, Mezzo Soprano; Eve Orenstein, Mezzo Soprano

For ticket holders who tune in for the concert and following Festival premiere of Vatel, Brasserie Boulder (from Cafe Aion) is offering a 15% discount (code: FFFF15) on dinners and wine for our January 28th opening night presentations of Opera from the Court of the Sun King at 6:30pm and Vatel at 7:30pm. La Merise in Denver is offering pre-ordered dinners (Beef Bourguignon, Salmon Côte d’Azur, Parisian Chicken). For information on La Merise dinners: www.flatironsfoodfilmfest.org/food

Those watching after the live events have occurred may do so at their convenience. A recording of this Q&A will be available to begin streaming until midnight on Feb 5th. Once you press play, you'll have 72 hours to complete viewing.
