The next show of our "Sing Into Spring" series! This month, we're going to go back where it all started; the Baroque era!
Let's return to a simpler time. A time where singers could show off how many notes they could sing in one breath. A time where the works of Verdi and Puccini would be considered distasteful and loud. A time where you could sing a word, and then sing it fifty more times because art. You'll get to hear all of that right here on FB Live!!
Of course, we will be partnering with Hop River Brewing Company!! They have an absolutely fabulous in-restaurant pickup or curbside delivery service for takeout, even if you’re ordering a growler! So after enjoying the beautiful outdoor weather, grab your Hop River goodies, and join us for this fabulous show!! "See" you there!!
Is That Opera? (Sing into Spring Series)

We all know what an opera singer sounds like....but is the song she’s singing actually from an opera? This March we present our exciting new game show, “Is That Opera?” Our singers will present you with a variety of different songs, and YOU get to participate by guessing what genre you think it is (opera, musical theatre, popera) FOR PRIZES!!!! We are partnering once again with Hop River Brewing Company with a variety of joint prizes for those who participate!
Since this is a game, the more, the merrier! Please encourage your friends and family to attend this event. If you’re watching with others, each viewer should use their smartphone or another device to participate in the game individually!
THE RULES:
This is an honor system game, so no cheating 🙂 We trust you to play fair and avoid Google for this one!
As we play each song, send your guess about its genre directly to Opera on Tap Fort Wayne using Facebook messenger. If you’re on a computer, you can do this right on your browser; if you’re using a smartphone, you’ll need the Facebook Messenger app. Your choices for genre are:
Opera
Musical theatre
Popular music
Other (explain your response!)
We will tally the answers and announce the winners at the end of the show!
