No Justice, No Peace Workshop

Incredibly meaningful responses from Samuelle Reese and Jordan M Andrews about what their roles in No Justice, No Peace mean to be them 👉🏾We asked the No Justice, No Peace cast members what their respective roles mean to them. Today we’ll share the perspectives of Samuelle Reese, playing son Anthony Benson, and Jordan M. Andrews, playing father Harold Benson:

“For me, this work means that a black story is getting to be told in an authentic way, in a medium that wasn't created for black people and in some ways still isn't accepting of black voices," Samuelle said. "While the work is a diverse work, at its core, it is a current black story being told without reservation. This work searches several perspectives and leaves the audience to decide how they view and react to the american infection that is racism and the unlawful treatment of black people by law enforcement in today's America.”

“(I play) the father, Harold Benson, which has been so rewarding and emotionally challenging in a good way." Jordan said. "It has opened his eyes even more to the perspective of what black fathers and families endure with unjust actions by authority; and he hopes to evoke those same powerful emotions for the audience."
