Once upon a Friday dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a boring beverage that made me snore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of someone gently rapping, rapping on a can of bore
“Tis some soda” I muttered, ” tapping on at my kitchen door–
Only this and nothing more..

Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a hiss and bubble,
Stood a stately, tasty beer of New Image, ready to pour.
And the head of beer is seeming of a tasty beverage dreaming,
And the lamplight o’er me streaming throws its shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall drink the beer and drink the beer, evermore!
