Our popular “On Demand” show returns with a holiday twist! Using some of your favorite arias and holiday tunes, our singers will create a totally new story full of heart warming seasonal joy. Not only that, our audience gets to choose what happens in the story.  It’s choose your own adventure, opera style!

Starting Sunday December 13th, Denver Theatre District will be hosting live open stage caroling, lead by  Opera on Tap Colorado, at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Join us from 5:30pm – 7:30pm nightly Tuesday – Sunday (and some matinees). We’ll provide songbooks if you want to sing along and even incentivize you with free hot cocoa!

If you’re heading out to the Arts Complex for a show on these dates, plan on arriving a few minutes early!

We’re also caroling at the Ugly Sweater Run at Dick’s Sporting Good Park on Saturday, December 19 from 10am-12pm – sign up to run and we’ll cheer you on!

Opera auditions go like this: a singer walks into a room they’ve never been in before, hands a list of five arias to a panel of judgey opera company representatives and the singer introduces what they will sing first. After performing the first aria, while the panel invariably types on their laptops and whispers about who knows what, the panel – HOPEFULLY! – chooses the next aria they would like to hear.

This is a seriously sucky experience for most singers, but a necessary evil.

Let’s make it way more fun!

Our singers will sing their first aria for an appreciative audience who will cheer them on (that’s you!) while eating and drinking and enjoying life! Then at intermission you will get to vote for what you would like to hear next from each singer’s list of arias and then we sing it for you – to more cheering! Yay!

Colorado is known for its huge number of excellent craft breweries and we intend to sing at them all.

Or we will at least try our very best to hit as many as we can as often as possible!

Our singers will choose the opera arias you absolutely HAVE to hear – whether you are an opera newbie or a serious afficionado –  the coolest, most gorgeous, breathtaking, devastating operatic offerings.

And, for a truly incredible sensory experience, we will be pairing Upslope Brewing Company’s amazing beers with arias!
