Sarah is an opera singer, producer and arts administrator who found New York in 2009, carving out a niche for herself in the gritty-yet-glamorous community of alternative performance art. She is a performer and producer in clubs, bars, and back rooms of the NYC underground, combining the beauty of classical operatic performance with the excitement of modern burlesque and comedy. She created OPEROTICA, a variety show that puts a spin on traditional opera singing, sharing it as a diverse modern, and subversive art form. Sarah has worked for numerous arts organizations, including Asylum Arts, Columbia Artists Management, the Metropolitan Opera, among others. In addition to her role at OOT, Sarah currently works as the Arts Administrator at the nonprofit arts collaborative, MAP Fund, whose mission is to support contemporary artists of all abilities and backgrounds, particularly those with projects that disrupt notions of social hierarchies. Sarah continues to be enthralled in performance projects that defy cultural norms and loves being able to offer a platform where artists can share operatic works under a contemporary lens. She currently resides in Brooklyn with her husband and two charming but mischievous cats.
